I started working with EF after completing my studies in Brisbane. Before this I had participated in a study tour to Tianjin, which allowed me to think of work opportunities in China that I had not previously considered. I have made an effort to travel throughout China and am enjoying working and living in a country with rich history and interesting culture.

I look forward to engaging students with language learning beyond rote learning and strict activities. I enjoy seeing students actively using language because of a genuine desire to engage and I try to encourage this in the classroom. My teaching experience has taught me how rewarding it can be to inspire someone to learn and what a big impact this can have.

In 2011, after a number of years of traveling following graduation from University, I decided to embark on my Tefl career. I completed my CELTA in York, and got my first teaching job in a summer camp in the UK. Later that year I made the move to Hefei, and despite an initial plan of staying only one year I’m still here.
自从大学毕业后，我去过很多国家旅行。2011年，我决定开始我的教学生涯。我在约克完成了我的教学资质考试，并在英国夏令营开始了第一份教学工作。后来我来到合肥，本来决定只待一年，但是现在我依旧在这。

All teachers of children should take time to remember their childhoods, when learning was the entire focus of your life and reflection wasn’t high on the agenda, what was it that motivated you? What made a lesson/teacher a good one? Shouldn’t we put the students at the centre of our lessons, and start with an understanding of them?
学生的老师们都应该花些时间来回忆他们的童年时光。当学习是你生活的全部但是效果却不强的时候，是什么激励着你。精彩的课堂是什么形式的，一位出色的老师如何去授课？难道我们不应该把学生当做我们课堂的中心吗，并且开始逐渐了解他们？
