Some people think that the environmental problems are too big for individuals to solve. Others, however, believe that the problems cannot be solved if individuals do not take some actions. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

What are the responsibilities of the government and individuals on saving the environment？ Some people believe this social issue has nothing to do with single persons. Personally, I believe this assertion underestimates the potentials of average people in solving environmental problems, and my reasons will be explored as below.

On one hand, in terms of the fact all major environmental problems are cross-country, the government should play a leading role in seeking global cooperation. Obviously, environmental crisis today is very extensive and boundless, like global warming, ocean pollution, iceberg melting, and ozone hole, the solution of these problems is far beyond the limitation of every single person. So, the government becomes the unique organization that has power and resources for it. For example, only the government has the rights to hold and join the international meetings, take the negotiations, and make the global protocols with other countries to reduce the carbon emission worldwide.

On the other hand, a person’s efforts to change lifestyle in daily life can partially reduce the level of environmental pollution. For example, if urbanites can use walking or cycling, rather than private cars, for day-to-day commuting outside, then the gas emission would decline steeply. Similarly, if the public can consciously obey the principle or 3R--reducing the consumption of one off goods, reusing refillable bottles and containers, and recycling those renewable materials like plastics, paper and metals, then the amount of industrial and daily-life pollutants will be lowered quickly.

In conclusion, I believe both the government and individuals can have positive influences on addressing environment-related problems. The government’s main function is to seek international cooperation for global-size environmental issues, while an individual can also make the living place greener and cleaner, by embracing a environmentally friendly lifestyle.

There is no denying that it is the government and companies that should be blamed. First, the government only focuses on the increase of the economy, so they import many industrial machines which have detrimental influence on the ecology. Second, because of the population explosion, to build more buildings for people, government makes some unreasonable decisions such as cutting down the forest and burying the seas. As a result, the over exploitation of natural resources causes many environmental problems like soil erosion and desertification. Third, the government has not formulated an effective policy for our environmental protection. Consequently, I believe that government overlooks the importance of sustainable development.

Apart from the government, the companies are the destroyer to our natural ecology, too. A survey shows that over 60 percent of air pollution is caused by chemical factories. They discharge the poisonous water and emit the waste air without any treatment. What is worse, many factories are still using the unqualified facilities which do not have a green installation that can reduce the amount of pollutants. Above all, these less responsible actions make our environment have to face these big pressures.

Admittedly, the individuals also should be responsible for the environment problems because of the lack of the sense of preserving the environment. For instance, some individuals throw the rubbish everywhere and waste water and other finite resource. Even so, I tend to believe that individuals do not have the ability to combat such serious environmental problem like global warming. In contrast, having the power and financial support are the twp main reasons why governments and companies should take actions to solve the environmental problems."

Did you see the new about the flood in Bang Kok of Thai land？ In this summer, It had been rain almost for 1 month continuously. Likewise we can hear bad news about environmental disaster accident such as flood, drought, and hurricane. Climate disaster is increasing constantly and become more powerful. These kinds of disasters seem too complicated for individual to control it. So some people give up having effort to improve the environment. However, I thought individual participation is really important to solve this problem.

Think about your routine life. Every morning, I washed face and hair, often running on the water. And I drove car to commute to company. I often take out the food for lunch for saving the time. This kind of food usually use only one time used plate or warp it with plastic wrap and plate. In office, people copy papers easily and sometimes don't use double side paper. After coming back home I often enjoy eating the meat. But do you know the fact eating meat cause the deforestation and production of harmful gas？ This is because it takes wide rages of place to nurture the cattle of cow and cows emit harmful gas every time it breathes. What I like to say is environmental problem is related to our lives closely.

Second, the government followed what citizen really wants because the power of politic started from the citizen in democracy country. If people aren't interested in the environmental problem, Government won't be care about that. For instance, a place used to dispose of trash and habitats suffered from bad smell and healthy problem. So they protested to purify this place to government. First, officers weren't care about that. However, the demonstration was enlarged through media and newspaper, they changed the mind and this place remodeled to Public Park to plant a lot of trees.

In conclusion, individual is the seed of world. When individual want to change his or her each life, this little change will be gathered and make big change to all over the world. This is because individual life is related to environmental main causes and even government power."

The prosperity of world depends on the sustainable conservation method our society make while also meet the basic needs of residents. All these protections needs developing countries and developed countries collaborate to ensure the conservation progress. Thus, we can easily conclude that individuals can hardly handle the environmental issue.

First of all, a single person cannot deal with some environmental problems which require the whole society to solve. We may cite an example of population growth to illustrate the point. Population growth worldwide is at root of virtually the all the world environment problems. As the number of population growth, crowding generate pollution, destroy more habitats, use up additional resources. The most important to lower the population growth rate is by democracy and social equity. The population growth rate has fallen in some developing nations where several social conditions exist: more liberty for women, ladies receive social statues equal to that of men, enable to hold jobs and own properties； in addition, birth control information in the area are widely available and women are free to make their own reproductive decisions. All these facts determine that environment growth cannot be solved by individuals.

In addition, the relive of environment problem is decided by international cooperation. Dozens of international agreements have reached in the recent decades. For example, in 2002, over 200 delegates from 200 countries convened at South Africa to establish new goals on environment conservation in the 21st century. They also call on governments pay more attention on environment problems and provide more aid to it. Without the international endeavor, human can hardly survive.

Although we always state that environmental issue is too huge for us to handle, but if each of us do our part and a little more contributed to the environment, it doesn’t become a tough issue anymore. Pedestrians do not trample on the lawn； kids do not throw litter anywhere； workers in the factory discharge sewage in accordance with relative laws.

From discussed above, we conclude that environment problem is so serious that requires people to fight together. Admittedly, every person can do contribution to the environment conservation, however, mostly, the whole society plays a more important role. Therefore, I reinforce my standpoint that the environmental issue is too hard for individuals to handle.
