我们知道conversation大体可以分成2类:
1. Service Encounter(一般是学生和学校工作人员之间的对话)
2. Office Hour(一般是学生和教授之间的对话)
但不管是哪一类,学生都是有了问题去找对方的,那么我们首先要听明白学生的问题是什么,学生的问题一般都是由一些信号词引出来的:I was wondering/I was thinking/My problem is/Here is my question,等等,下面我们来看一个实例(TPO17-C2):

Student
Well, I work week nights, except for Friday. I was wondering if I could switch from working the dinner service to working at lunch.

那么学生的问题提出来以后就要分析产生这个问题的原因了,当然这个原因学生和老师都有可能说,我们还是来看一个实例(TPO17-C2):

那么在这个大的框架下,还有哪些细节是需要注意的呢?我们看看以下几个在conversation中比较重要的细节:
1. 老师的要求:(学术话题多考):老师对作业,论文,的要求。
信号词:required,requirement,you need to, you should…
2. 额外信息(如果文中出现必考):conversation中的额外信息就是一些其他的人,比如:Classmates, other students等,一定要听和主角或者主题相关的信息。
3. 语气转变:明显语气转变,如一些语气词:in fact, actually, wow等。
