With home-delivery service, they can stay at home and buy whatever they need, saving a great deal of lime and energy. In addition, online shopping makes it easier for consumers to compare the price of the goods and find bargains, without going from one store to another, as they used to do before. The competition between sellers would motivate them to improve the quality of their products and services, which conforms to the interests of consumers.

However, online shopping may expose consumers to risks. The first concern is the possibility of buying fake goods, as the transaction is done in the virtual space. Also, the loopholes on the web may lead to disclosure of personal information or even theft of identity. Another problem is irrational consumption. Shopping can be done at any time of the day or night, with various kinds of goods from all over the world available on the computer. Consumers may find it difficult to resist the temptation and end up in buying more things than they really need.
