　　Space exploration, one of the most controversial issues of today, has expanded mans’ frontier of science. Though, some people believe it has done significant improvement in human life, others view it as waste of huge amount of money. This essay would substantiate the view how exploring the space has benefited human race.

　　Firstly, the most crucial out of all advantages of space travel is that it offers mankind with obstacles. Challenges always fascinate men to overcome it, and this in turn leads to many new discoveries and innovations. For instance, it was this curiosity which led man to land his feet on moon; and which explored the possibility for mankind to migrate in another planet. Next, the information that man acquired out of his achievements to explore space is limitless. The research into the sun and the stars helped us understand the origin of the substance, the universe and human race.

　　Secondly, the usage of space technologies has directly altered our society. Geostationary satellites orbiting our planet let us communicate instantly with individuals on various different continents, and also allow broadcasting of any TV program world-wide. Weather satellites help to save thousands of lives each year, as they provide warnings of natural disaster in advance. Besides, new energy like solar power also results from the space technology. This new power is characterized by cleanness, cheapness and renewable resources; its wide application now has substantially improved the living environment, saved day-to-day costs on energy, and effectively prevented the threat of global warming.

　　However, the main concern is about the priority of tax revenue spending. In fact, most countries in the world except some highly affluent, are suffering from hunger, poverty and infectious diseases. Thus being a human kind it is the our collective responsibility to help them making their ends meet rather than spending money on such kind of act which has yield no direct result and advantage to the society. They suggest that it would be better to invest the financial budget into the solution of pressing social problems, by providing practical aids, from food to housing to health care.

　　To conclude, there are many direct and indirect benefits of space research, which are directly linked to human race. Man will continue to encounter the unknown and will conquer it, thereby profiting mankind.

The realization of space tourism would arouse the interest of general public: accelerating the development of space technology.

　　Although taking a trip to outer space sounds exciting, its risks should not be ignored. There were a few accidents happening in the history that led to the suspension of space exploration projects. Other barriers include the astronomical cost and limit of technology. Although the prospect of space tourism seems profitable，the research and development at the initial stage is costly. Also: many technical problems remain unsolved. Even if the dream of space sightseeing comes true, it would be a privilege of wealthy people and beyond the affordability of ordinary people.

　　Personally: I believe space tourism is a realistic goal of human beings: but there is still a long way to go. Its significance would be far-reaching: but it is still distant from our real life at present.

This would be more exciting than seeing unfeeling robots on TV. Furthermore,this would probably serve to unite humanity,which means that a sense of citizenship for Earth may be achieved. In this way,space travel actually promotes peace and understanding among nations.

　　There is also an economic argument for encouraging space tourism. With the promise of new technology,space travel services are likely to be capable of growing rapidly into a major new industry in the future. This would create a wide range of new business opportunities,such as pilots,stewardesses and control tower workers. Consequently,this would be very beneficial for world economic growth,for unemployment is more-or-less high throughout the world.

　　There are,however,some dangers of developing this new industry to a large scale. One main concern would be the high consumption of fuel source and air pollution. Another danger would be the hazards of traveling in the outer space,as this is ever more dangerous than other kinds of extreme sports. However,these problems could be tackled strategically with alternative energy,and the safety and security would be ensured by developing a reliable orbital infrastructure.

　　In conclusion,although space tourism could be dangerous to a certain extent，I do believe this development would be extremely positive,and therefore it would be essential to promote and fund it.
