Although I do miss home-made meals from time to time, I hold that it is better to live far away from parents than live close to them. When I was home, everything in my life was taken care of and I did not even have to lift a finger for housework. Now I am in a different country and I am on my own; however, I do enjoy being able to make decisions all the time. For example, I can decide which courses that I would take next semester and I can strike a balance between personal interest and future career. I can decide which friends to hang out with and my parents are not here to meddle in my interpersonal relationship. I make those major decisions and I can live with the consequences. I believe that is what people mean when they say growing up.
