It is widely acknowledged that with the rapid development of science and technology, an increasing number of educational means have been developed to improve the quality of education so that children can be well-educated and become the strongest ones in the future. Therefore, some people argue that it is a better choice for parents to play games or do sports activity with their children, whereas some people are in favor of spending time on helping students with their academic assignment and school-related things. For my part, I definitely advocate that parents should play games or so sports with their children. Although there are many reasons, I will just explore some of them.

In the first place, frankly speaking, not all parents are professional enough to deal with the problems encountered by their children and they are not familiar with the academic knowledge. In other words, teachers at school may ask their children to listen to radio for half an hour to get to know the news home and abroad. However, some parents may argue against this requirement, for the reason that they think it is a waste of time and do not want to buy radio for their children. Obviously, parents do not align with teachers of their children, and in most cases, this disagreement will lead children in the wrong direction. If parents always have different opinions from teachers and criticize their teaching methods, their children will gradually believe that their teachers are not trustworthy, and they will not listen to and obey them anymore. However, after all, teachers are trained to teach students and they know what are beneficial for the students study.

In addition, playing games and doing sports with children is able to help them build confidence and establish intimate relationships, which contributes to the mental development of the children and facilitate the study efficiency at school. When parents and their children do some sports, such as playing badminton, or playing basketball, parents will let their children know how to corporate and form the team spirit. Children will also gain some fun and feel being loved by their parents. According to the recent study of the psychological department of Howard University, more time children get together with their parents, higher level of their intelligence and confidence will be. That is to say, by playing games or doing sports with their children, parents show their love to them and improve their intelligence and confidence, which undoubtedly contribute to their great performance at school.
